The only things I don't really understand are the thin white outlines (I mean around the dino-gorilla's head and right hand, and around the superhero's right forearm).
IMHO, since the colors are perfect, you don't need those outlines in order to separate background and foreground elements.
But that's just my opinion...
Believe me when I tell you, those halos were needed. I did a version previous to this one without using any halos, and it was very difficult to separate the planes since there was so much going on in those areas and the line-weights were so similar. I tried a number of different things to help separate it without the halos, but nothing looked natural. I actually didn't even consider using the halos until it was suggested to me to try. It didn't muck with the original colors and was pretty effective in breaking up the planes. I'm generally against halos, but in this case, I think it worked.
I also wanted to ask if about getting a high rez of the EPIC piece you did for my first con banner?
Let me know your thoughts on that.
BTW, congrats on the first place over at HueDoo! Well done!
And thanks...but....*looks left* *looks right*...I don't know anything about that until they make the official announcement next week.
And sorry about blowin' HueDoo
Thanks for the comp! Can't wait to see it.
